Star Student
Each year a PAGE STAR student is chosen for each school based high school seniors must have the highest score on one test date on the three-part SAT and be in the top 10 percent or top 10 students of their class based on grade point average. This years recipient for the PAGE STAR student is Widly Coulanges, a senior in our Academy of Research and Medical Science Program at South Cobb High School. The PAGE Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program is sponsored by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) Foundation, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Georgia Department of Education and locally by the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce.
The STAR program has honored more than 20,000 students and the teachers they have selected as having had the most influence on their academic success. Widly Coulanges has chosen Dr. Ellen Katzowitz as his STAR Teacher.
During Widly’s four year at South Cobb, has participated in: LaCrosse as Defense Captain, Band, National Honor Society- Secretary, Beta Club, HOSA, Leo Club, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Widly has been accepted into Georgia Institute of Technology (Presidential Scholar) and Yale University.
